International Theological
Institute and Seminary

International Theological Institute and Seminary (Instituto y Seminario Teológico Internacional  - ISTI) is a theological education initiative of DiscipleLead Ministries, created to help pastors, ministry leaders, and educators gain access to advanced, academically credible theological formation without leaving their ministry contexts.

Across the Spanish-speaking world, faithful leaders are serving with deep commitment and calling—often with limited access to advanced theological education. ISTI exists to help bridge that gap.
While Bible institutes and Bible schools have played—and continue to play—a foundational and indispensable role in forming pastors and ministry leaders, many leaders encounter significant limitations when seeking advanced theological training that is formally recognized, academically rigorous, and transferable across institutional and national contexts.

ISTI explicitly affirms, honors, and values the historic and ongoing work of Bible institutes and Bible schools, where they have faithfully equipped generations of pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and church leaders for practical ministry. These institutions remain essential to the life and mission of the Church, providing accessible, church-centered, and spiritually formative training at the grassroots level.

At the same time, the increasing complexity of ministry in the twenty-first century—along with the demands of leadership development, theological reflection, academic accountability, and global collaboration—has created a growing need for advanced theological education that is formally structured and offered through accredited academic frameworks. ISTI exists not to replace Bible institutes or Bible schools, but to serve as a complementary pathway, offering progression, articulation, and expansion beyond foundational training.

Functioning as an academically focused theological education initiative with clearly defined academic authority and programmatic responsibility, ISTI maintains its own educational identity, academic vision, and programmatic direction, while operating with the legal, financial, and organizational accountability provided by DiscipleLead Ministries. This structure allows ISTI to pursue long-term academic integrity, institutional stability, and missional effectiveness.

Central to ISTI’s educational model is a commitment to strategic partnerships with accredited theological institutions. Rather than duplicating existing accredited programs or functioning as a degree-granting institution, ISTI collaborates intentionally with recognized seminaries, Bible colleges, and universities to extend accredited or accreditation-aligned ministerial training into Spanish-speaking contexts. Through these partnerships, ISTI serves as a bridge and facilitating platform, helping translate advanced theological education into formats that are linguistically accessible, culturally contextualized, and compatible with ongoing ministry responsibilities.

Through these strategic partnerships, ISTI seeks to:
  • Create clear academic articulation pathways from Bible institute and Bible school training into advanced theological studies.
  • Provide access to formally recognized certificates, diplomas, and degree-level programs offered through accredited partner institutions.
  • Uphold academic rigor, quality assurance, and theological accountability.
  • Strengthen local leadership without requiring leaders to abandon their ministry contexts.
  • Contribute to the long-term theological depth and sustainability of the Church in the Spanish-speaking world.
ISTI understands its role as both a steward of theological tradition and a catalyst for future leadership formation. By honoring the legacy of Bible institutes and Bible schools while addressing the urgent need for accredited advanced theological education, ISTI seeks to serve the Church with humility, clarity, and strategic purpose.

Through DiscipleLead Ministries and its network of accredited academic partners, ISTI contributes to the formation of leaders who are biblically grounded, theologically informed, academically prepared, spiritually mature, and missionally engaged, equipped to serve faithfully and lead effectively in the Spanish-speaking world and beyond.
ISTI operates as an educational initiative of DiscipleLead Ministries, a Missouri-registered Religious and Public Benefit Corporation and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. While ISTI is currently a non-accredited institution, it is authorized by the State of Missouri to offer ministry training programs through a formal religious exemption.
